Hi there— I’m Abby! I’m a co-owner and the sole operator of Big Fun Entertainment & Brass Band, and now I’m also Knock Knock, a local New Orleans DJ. Part of calling myself Knock Knock is to remind you (and me) that DJing should be just as fun as it is professional, because at the end of the day, if we’re not having fun, what’s the point? I’m fully invested in the success of every event, but I also think I can’t take being a 33 year old DJ too seriously. I truly just want to have fun at events alongside my clients.

Here’s some background on what got me here! Running Big Fun is what lead to me starting to offer DJ services. Primarily what we offer for Big Fun is live music services from 2ndline Parades, Wedding Cover Bands, Jazz Bands and other live bands featuring professional musicians. We were regularly being asked about DJs, but we didn’t have a DJ on our roster. Funny story, back in 2023 a local company that regularly used our live music services oversold to a client of theirs- they told me they’d like to rent sound equipment, gave the client the impression I was a DJ, and it forced my hand to offer the service! My first gig was at the NATCHEZ BOAT LAUNCH, it was right on the river in the French Quarter, I couldn’t believe it then, and I’m so grateful for that experience now. The event and the client were so fun that I decided I really needed to invest myself into the art and fun of mixing and hosting events as a performer, not just someone who operates behind the scenes!
